Downhill Revival is a 501c3. We plan to accomplish our mission by:
Whether they’ve always been part of the skate community or are new to it, everyone deserves a spot in their community-of-choice.
Community through hobby allows people to connect with others, build meaningful relationships, foster a sense of belonging, and create a support network, ultimately enhancing personal well-being and social connection. This is especially important for disabled veterans and civilians alike, who can experience significantly higher feelings of isolation and loneliness due to lack of accessibility and acceptance in everyday culture. By creating accessibility and acceptance in the downhill longboard community, we can boost the overall well-being and self-esteem of participating disabled veterans and civilians by allowing them to develop new skills, express themselves physically, and participate actively in their community without the limitations imposed by their disability.
Behind Downhill Revival is a team with specialized skills and lived experience in an array of adaptive sports, sporting organizations, and the specific sports of downhill skateboarding and streetluge.
Our team includes champions from the adaptive and open classes of downhill skateboarding and streetluge, as well as the original engineers behind the current, and most awarded, custom adaptive downhill options. We are in direct contact with worldwide event organizers and top downhill skateboard and streetluge brands. Together, we have decades of lived experience in the longboard industry, working behind the products and on them as professional athletes. Many of our team members also worked on, or for, the leading sporting associations for downhill skateboarding and streetluge. From the perspectives of the adaptive athletes to event organizers, and product engineers, we understand the needs of our community.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve access to adaptive longboarding - and we are a USA 501c3 certified nonprofit!
